Sara “Bei” Hall who won the National high school championship while at Montgomery has just won the USA adult Championships in St Louis.
Running the 8,000m course in 20 degree weather with winds from 20-25 miles per hour, Sara’s race finished almost the same as her prep victory.
Sara and Molly Huddle pulled away from the field around 4k with Huddle leading from the start.
With less than a 1,000m to go Sara made her first move to take the lead but Molly came back to regain the lead.
With about 100m left Sara again tried to break away but Molly came back to pull even with both finishing in a photo finish.

Even after their live interview after the race neither still knew who had won. Both were given a time of 26:50.1 for a 5:24 mile pace.
When the results were final announced the win was given to Sara.
In the Junior womens race another former Viking star Julia Nacouzi finished 25th in 23:09.2 for 6K.
