Former Montgomery pole vaulter Melinda Speer is now an ice skating champion. Speer still holds the 7th highest vault by a freshman at 8-8 from 1999. Speer now works as a skating instructor at the Snoopy’s Home Ice arena. Yesterday Speer won the 2013 Adult Nationals Championships Int/Novice Ladies Gold Medal in Scottsdale.
