Bowen qualifies for finals at world championships

Rylee Bowen wearing her first USA uniform qualified for the finals in the 2000m Steeplechase today in Colombia at the 9th IAAF World Youth Championships. Rylee finished 6th in her heat to move on to the finals finishing in 6:59.30. Rylee is the youngest of the 15 qualifiers. The finals will be run on the 17th. Rylee is rooming with the U.S. National 100m record holder and only HS girl to ever break 11 seconds, Candace Hill. Complete Results

OMG Bowen breaks HS State record


Rylee Bowen traveled to Lisle, Illinois, for USATF Hershey National Youth Outdoor Championships yesterday. Bowen destroyed the old CA HS record in the 2000 Meter Steeplechase and ran the fastest time in the nation this year, 6:41.26. That is a 5:21.01 1600m pace for 5 laps over barriers. Rylee Bowen placed 7th at the Brooks PR Invitational at Shoreline Stadium in Seattle, WA. Her mile time of 4:48.95 is equal to a 1600m in 4:47.28. It is her second fastest ever and the number 12 perfromance All-Time.
