Postal meet is back

In the mid 70′s there was no NIKE Cross Nationals to determine best cross country teams in the US. But Piner High received some glory through the Postal meets. Basically teams during the XC season ran a 2 or 3 mile track race and mailed in there results to see who was the fastest. 2014 Boys Cross Country Preview

Maria Carrillo has won 8 of last 11 NBL titles, including the last two, but with graduation hitting the Puma’s hard watch out for other teams to challenge for top spot in the Empire. With huge numbers you would be a fool to count Carrillo out this year however. Casa Grande could have one of the best one-two combo’s in the North Coast Section. 2014 Girls Cross Country Preview

This fall should have another great team battle between Maria Carrillo and Casa Grande but this year eyes all over the state are going to be glued on freshman Rylee Bowen. Bowen will be entering her first high school season, for Division V Sonoma Academy. Bowen enters the prep ranks with 8th grade marks similar to those of one of the Empires most decorated runners, Julia Stamps.
