Lea Butler soars

Former Rancho Cotate High’s Lea Butler has risen fast in the pole vault world. As a junior in 2011 Butler was only an eight foot vaulter placing 4th in NBL finals. As a senior she had a nice improvement to 9-4 but was only a 3rd place finisher in the NBL. Johnson twins star in Wyoming

Former Piner stars Dezirae and Kyra Johnson are still leading the way just now on the college level for Fresno State. Dezirae won the 400 in a PR of 54.37 at the Mountain West Conference Championship this week held at University of Wyoming. SRJC at NorCal Finals

Complete results Women Lea Butler was NorCal Champion in the Pole Vault with a Jump of 11’1” and has qualified for the State Meet. Luisa McInnins finished 3rd in the high jump at 5’1.25” and qualifying for the state meet. Tori Dwyer qualified for the State meet in the Steeplechase running 12:22.74 and placing 6th. Men Nick DeSoto finished 4th in the discus with a throw of 152’9” and qualified for the state meet.
