The National High School Coaches Association will build the first ever National High School Sports Hall of Fame Museum in Easton, Pennsylvania.
The hope is to begin construction by the spring of 2012.
And who will be in the first batch put into the Hall, none other than our own Julia “Stamps” Mallon.
Julia was of course our first, of three, National cross country champions winning in 1994.
When she finished her high school career I believe Julia held the course record on every high school course she ever ran on except San Diego’s Balboa Park were her 16:41.9 5K National winning time was only 2.6 seconds off of Colorado’s Melody Fairchild’s mark in winning the 1990 Nationals.
Stamps held the Mt. Sac record at 16:55 and still holds the Woodward Park record in Fresno which has been used since 1987 for the state championships.
And of course she still holds our own Spring Lake course record.
