As many expected Piner Senior Luis Luna destroyed the Spring Lake course record to lead his team to the 2011 NBL title.

Luna took seven seconds off of Ukiah’s Ryan Mack’s 1998 record he ran the year he won the State title.

Piner Senior Kyra Johnson, in her first year of cross country, became the Prospectors first undisputed winner. In 1988 Piner’s Michelle Ferguson was crowned NBL Champion, even though Rincon Valley Junior High runner Nika Horn crossed the line first.
