Lauren Wallace breaks school 800m record

Former Ukiah high prep star Lauren Wallace broke a 16-year-old school record for UC Davis in the 800-meter run. Wallace ran an indoor 800 in 2:08.58 Wallace is #2 All-Time outdoor (2:08.08) on Davis’ 800 list behind former Analy runner Rose Criss who holds the outdoor school record at 2:07.91.   Wallace also ran on the 4X400 relay team that ran 3:51.74.   See more about Wallace and the meet here    

Steffen & Lane win at State Indoor Meet

California High School Indoor Invitational Unofficial State Indoor Championships 1/21/2012 Run For the Dream, Save Mart Center, Fresno, CA   Petaluma’s Danielle Steffen and Maria Carrillo’s Siobhan Anderson took first and second in the pole vault. Steffen tied the Redwood Empire indoor held by Ursuline’s Michelle Stone at 11 feet 6 inches. Danielle Steffen favored to win State Indoor

Petaluma’s Danielle Steffen is the top ranked pole vaulter for Saturday’s High School State Indoor Championships in Fresno. Steffen, Nicole Lane and Courtney Tuck all placed 3rd in last years Indoor State Meet. Julia “Stamps” Mallon PR’s in US Marathon trials

Former Santa Rosa high running star Julia “Stamps” Mallon ran her fastest marathon time ever at the USA Olympic trials marathon race Saturday in Houston. Julia finished in 2:44:07 for a 68th place finish. Sara “Bei” Hall’s husbands Ryan Hall qualified for the Olympic team placing second in 2:09:30. All NorCal Cross Country Teams

The 2011 All NorCal High School XC Teams have been selected and the Redwood Empire had some high placers. Piner’s Luis Luna made first team All NorCal. Luna was the highest placing NorCal runner at the Foot Locker Nationals. Sonoma’s Alex Conner was picked second team and Ukiah’s Paul Holden was picked as one of the ten undergraduates to make the top three teams. Piner’s Jaime Silva made honorable mention.
